A year and a half ago Mollie saw a short "documentary" about kids riding tricycles to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It started a good discussion about how some kids get sick and need special care from special hospitals. It brought up how our friend Michelle needed a bone marrow transplant to get her blood well again. Mollie became very excited about raising money to help sick kids, so together we came up with Kids Helping Kids.
Kids Helping Kids coordinated a trike-a-thon and we all had a good, long morning riding laps around a parking lot. We had so much fun that we decided to do it again! This time Allie is able to participate more on her own and understands better why we are doing this.
So if you are a local friend reading this, please consider joining us. It is this Sat., June 13th 9am-12noon. It's not too late! I can get you a sponsor sheet easily.
If you are a family memeber, be ready for little voices on the other end asking if you would like to sponsor them. Mollie is on trainig wheels and Allie just got the hang on a tricycle, so I don't think it won't be as many laps as last time.
Thanks!
