Summer Sweets

Scott treated the girls to a treat from the ice cream truck passing by. They got to pick what they wanted and loved each sweet and drippy moment. The weekend we had our first yard sale. Our neighbor joined us and her son and the girls had a blast playing all morning along together outside and in the two homes. We took advantage of the perfect weather and the kids and I made homemade, fresh squeezed lemonade from organic lemons. Quite a selling point! Allie spent just enough time at the table to drink a couple cups.

Feeling older by the century

Mollie was looking at a Winnie the Pooh book and the binding is starting to fall apart. So she asked when the book was made. After telling her "1973," she then asks me "Were you alive in that century?" Are you kidding me?!
"Yes I was hunny."
"Were you a little kid in that century?"
"Yes, hunny." I think I have a few new gray hairs now.

Swim Lessons

Summer means swimming around here. Both girls are enrolled in a session of swimming right now. Allie is still at the age where the parents are in the pool too. Mollie's class is a little longer so today she entertained herself by pulling herself along the bench with just her arm strength.

Mollie wants this summer to be THE summer to learn to swim. She is very pleased with herself when she is able to swim (very short distances) without all the floats on.After the first day drama of learning to be in a pool in a class setting Allie has really taken to lessons. She can kick and do her big swimming arms at the same time, blow bubbles and get her face in the water. I think her favorite thing to do is climb out then jump in at the end of lessons.
Happy little fish.
